I don't think that those people want much to do with someone like me.
This popped up on my FB memories. Five years ago, when my son was twelve-years-old, we had this conversation. If a child can understand this concept, why do so many adults still struggle with it?
"Today I asked Nicholas what he thought about the controversy regarding the Confederate flag. He said, "Whenever I see the Confederate flag I think I about the pictures from the 1960's during the end of segregation. There were a lot of people holding the Confederate flag in those pictures and I doubt that they were holding it because they were just expressing their 'Southern pride'." I then followed up by asking if there was anything else that he thought when he saw it. "Well, to be honest, I don't think that those people want much to do with someone like me. You know, a black person."
So there you have it."
